Christmas

Merry Christmas!!
Alan and I went to Oceanside for Christmas this past weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the weekend. My whole family was there which only happens about once a year. We were able to watch old home videos of Christmas from 12 years ago. It was funny to watch how everyone was back then. Especially my mom's mom, Mimi, who apparently was caught on tape checking out my dad from behind. It was quite hilarious! Nobody noticed this until now, not even my mom who was taping the whole incident. We enjoyed visiting the beach, watching movies, playing "Catch Phrase" and hanging out.
On Christmas Eve, we all went to church then came home and ate tamales. On Christmas, Alan went surfing with my siblings Scott, Chris and Renae while Ruth, Lisa, and I went running and walking on the boardwalk. Early evening we had a typical ham dinner with everyone and a few family friends. Roxy, our cute cat, stayed at home. I had a friend, Becky, come and check in on her while we were gone. Anyway, there's not much for me to put on this blog because I forgot to take pictures. Hopefully I write something more interesting soon.

Oh, Christmas Tree

Alan and I were excited to get our first real Christmas tree this year. Nothing like that fresh smell of pine. Two years ago a friend gave us a fake one and we put it up. But Roxy jumped into the middle of it knocking it over and breaking the stand. We were a little nervous that she would do the same with this tree but she hasn't. Roxy has been good keeping a good distance from it. Sometimes she'll sleep under the tree.

Hume Lake Couples Conference

Here are some pictures of us and friends at Hume Lake in October. We went with some friends from church to a couples retreat. It was a fun time to relax, hang out with friends and learn from God's Word. We had fun challenging ourselves on the high ropes course, pamper pole and rock wall. Overall, it was a great weekend!

If you look closely at one of the pictures (the one with Renelle and me in the trees), it looks like I lost my head!

Guate meets Aussie

You may be wondering what the title of our web page, "Guate meets Aussie" means.

Well, Alan was born and raised in Guatemala. His parents were and still are Christian missionaries in Guatemala City, Guatemala. So pretty much all or Alan's childhood was growing up in Guatemala. From knowing Alan and seeing Alan you'd never think that he is a Guatemalan.

Sarah was born in Western Australia and moved to San Diego, North America when she was eight. She had an accent when she first moved here, but quickly lost it. The rest of her childhood she lived in Oceanside, California until she was eighteen when she moved to Santa Clarita, California.

Both of us have dual citizenship as American's and our native countries.

We met at The Master's College in Santa Clarita and dated for three years before tying the knot on May 25, 2002. I can't believe it has almost been 4 years since we got married!

We both love the outdoors. We like playing tennis, riding our bikes and observing God's beautiful earth, whether it's through a beautiful sunset at the beach or smelling the pine trees in the mountains.

Alan loves to surf whenever he gets a chance. He also plays many musical instruments and enjoys playing (more like bothering) our cat, Roxy.

Sarah likes to read and has recently picked up a knack for running. She also likes to cook and hang out with friends.

Our future career goals are to continue to build the cruise business as well as build and remodel homes. And of course, we would love to have a family someday when God's timing is right!

So that's just a little about us, we hope this web site will be a great way to stay and touch and connect with family members and friends. God Bless and Merry Christmas!
